5 Things I discovered this week #2

Reading Time: 1 min

Each week I share five ideas at the intersection of leadership, burnout, parenting, learning, and building a life that feels both ambitious and sustainable.

1. Leadership

Ownership isn’t about carrying the load yourself.

It’s about creating a system where the right things happen consistently, with or without you.

2. Burnout

Burnout deserves more conversation than it gets.

Not because we should dwell on it, but because resilience starts with understanding what got us there.

3. Parenting

My son won’t remember most of the meetings I attended.

But he’ll remember whether I looked up when he walked into the room.

That has become a useful filter for deciding what truly deserves my attention.

4. Learning

AI is making information almost free.

Judgment, curiosity, and the ability to ask better questions are becoming more valuable than having the quickest answers.

5. A question I’m sitting with

What story am I telling myself today?

If I keep repeating it for the next five years, where will it lead me?

Until next week,

Megha

Hi, I’m Megha, founder of OutOfTheBurn. I’m interested in a question that sits beneath burnout: why do capable, ambitious people keep pushing even when the way they are working is no longer sustainable? My work explores the patterns behind that question - our relationship with ambition, responsibility, boundaries, pressure, and identity - drawing on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and behavioural design. OutOfTheBurn is about finding a way to pursue meaningful ambition without making wellbeing the price of achievement. Ambition with Ease. Work Well. Burn Bright. Not Out.
