5 Things I Discovered This Week #9

Reading Time: 1 min

Leadership

Trust exists precisely because certainty doesn’t. If we could predict people completely, we wouldn’t need trust.

Burnout

Sometimes the pattern continues because we make no choice. A yes can change the direction. A no can change the direction. Making no choice can keep us in the same loop.

Parenting

Protection can sometimes create the very doubt it is trying to prevent. Capability grows partly through being trusted to try.

Learning

Asking for help and being independent are not opposites. Choosing what to carry ourselves and what to share may be independence itself.

A Question I’m Sitting With

How exciting could life become if every moment were an opportunity to choose, knowing we can always bounce back?

Hi, I’m Megha, founder of OutOfTheBurn. I’m interested in a question that sits beneath burnout: why do capable, ambitious people keep pushing even when the way they are working is no longer sustainable? My work explores the patterns behind that question - our relationship with ambition, responsibility, boundaries, pressure, and identity - drawing on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and behavioural design. OutOfTheBurn is about finding a way to pursue meaningful ambition without making wellbeing the price of achievement. Ambition with Ease. Work Well. Burn Bright. Not Out.
